One evening in June
You and I slipped out of time
and escaped to the faery feast;
breathed in the honey air,
kissed the willow wisps,
and watched the fireflies
dance by the creek.
We ate the fruits of Venus
and coveted their stones--
wrote messages on them
and hid them in our pockets
as talismans.
Laughed with sparrows late into the night
recounting romances
and getting drunk on moon,
and rose petals,
and blackberry wine.
Plotted ways to stop the sun
from erasing the darkness
and dissolving the evidence
into morning dew.
But I was lucky enough
to snatch a violet horizon;
and I wrapped it in silver wings--
a token preserved in starlight
to ensure that these years
will never fade
the magic
from your heart.

This is beautiful! But event hat doesn't even seem to express it completely. I love it!

I think that is the perfect ingredient for this disaster.

Loves!

ps. I consider it a companion piece to the one that you wrote: "Genevieve".

Meaning that it is, or the lack there of?
If the first, thank you.

I was actually noticing similarities in structure to the piece that I wrote, and I'm glad that its not just me XD

Yes, it isn't the same form as your piece (not a sonnet), but I intentionally made the progression similar.
